PERSONALITY:

Orestes is a calm male, noble in attitude, in a sense. He harbor enormous quantities of pride within him, and makes it his goal to defend his family at whatever costs. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and family, and betraying them would never enter his thoughts. Orestes is constantly trying his best to teach his children to be strong, as well as to look out for one another. His life is defined by his acts of charity, and if he could chose his method of demise, he would chose self-sacrifice.
Orestes isn't, as it would seem, all-serious all the time. Though work does come before play, he tends be very lax. A vigilante meerkat, he tries to be the best he can be, from sentry to dominant male to dad. However, the male is prone to anger and occasionally snaps at small things. Persistence plagues the meerkat, and often over-runs him. Revenge is something that Orestes freely partakes in, and if he sets off to bring down his own justice, he will refuse to halt his actions. In doing so, he tends to make irrational decisions and forget about the present, and those around him.
The meerkat tends to be a curious one, and he loves adventure and thrills. If he had his way, he would still have time for exploring the deserts. His fondness of excitement also applies to the vicious family battles that ensue accidental meetings. Often seen fighting with a grin, one could easily mistake him for a blood-lusting sadist.

APPEARANCE:

The average size for a male, Orestes was never one to stand out of a crowd. A bit husky and laid in with strong muscle, he remains in the image of a standard dominant male. His pride boasts from his form, from his tall posture and his clear, bright eyes.
His sloping snout is accented by a strong, sculpted complexion. Years are showed on the meerkat's face with a short scar over his right eye. His body over all is covered in a monotone of light, sandy fur. The main of his dark spots, ears and around eyes, are a dull, yet light brown.

PAST:

Life started in the Starcross mob, its history tracing to years back. Orestes was born to a female that migrated into the mob, one who didn't know her place very well. However, the dominant female at the time allowed him and his siblings to continue on in their lives. However, Orestes's mother was not quite so lucky, and despite the mercy that the dominant female showed her, she fell prey to a different sort of doom. While watching her own pups at the burrow one morning, she had missed the hawk in the near by tree. This all took place when Orestes was rather young, and now as a fully grown meerkat, he remembers little of his mother.
Growing up in the Starcross mob was a decent opportunity for the meerkat. He had everything he needed to grow and mature. Around eleven months old, he chose to leave the Starcross and churn up some adventures of his own. However, he did so to no avail, and found the desert to be rather barren.
There were few other mobs in the area, the reason he did not know. After a handful of months as a rover, he returned to his birthmob, which was as lively as ever. But this time, the thriving Starcross was getting over the death of their dominant male.
Orestes took it upon himself in no time to fill in the position and regain what control had been lost with the vacant position. And so began that new chapter in his life.
