FEBRUARY MISFIRE
NAME: February GENDER: Female AGE: One Year BIRTHDAY: February 12th, 2010 FAMILY: none
MOB: Misfires RANK: Subordinate
PERSONALITY:If Feburary was defined in one word, that word would be sensitive. She's a rather frail sort, with a soft spirit and soft heart. She takes every word said to heart, and easily takes it the wrong way. The meerkat is a deeply compassionate creature of few words. A sort of sad and isolated air hangs around her. She's more of a watcher, sitting on the side to watch those that participate. But despite her overall sense of sheer loneliness, she's a loving creature that takes joy in little things. Often left to babysit, pups are one of February's favorite things. She takes joy in caring for them and watching them, and even playing games with them, and harbors innocent desires of raising her own. But she sorrowfully dismisses such wants, her subordinate position putting her in no place to do otherwise. Far too submissive to rise to dominant rank, she remains content with what she has. In terms of submission, February lacks motivation to stand up for herself. If insulted, she simply takes it. Most of the times, she is sure that it isn't true, not lacking in self esteem. It's rare that she ever gets fired up about anything, but the day she does, something quite significant must have happened. She isn't exactly a coward, but she isn't the bravest either. She does what needs to be done, and perhaps will go out of her way to keep pups safe. Going out in the world doesn't exactly nag on her mind, nor is it something she wants to do. A homebody, leaving the territory, leaving the safety of her mob, isn't something she wants to do. If there was one reason she'd ever leave the Misfires, it would either be because she was driven out or she wanted to meet and stay with a rover. Thoughts have nagged at her mind before, and ever since they first occured, February's been deemed a hopeless romantic. Often lost in thought, sitting and watching her mob, she imagines herself in a strange fantasy, one in which she ran off with a rover. And of course it had to be more than a mate and run, she insisted he stay. The female always believed this would simply be her silly little fantasy, but she knows that if the moment arose, she'd be caught and dragged along. There would be no getting out of it. Ultimately scared of the opposition from her mother, any sign of a rover drives her far away.
APPEARANCE: The most considerably striking aspect of February is her light fur. Almost white, a light cream fur details her entire body from snout to tail. The classic meerkat eye patches are a dull, gray brown, desaturated and patterned in a rhombus-like shape. Sandy brown stripes run along her back and over her ribs. Along her tail, the stripes thicken until they turn into a brown point. As a meerkat, February is a bit lacking in size, and she falls three inches below the average foot-tall height. Her frame is small and she seems to reflect her inside character quite well. Her wide eyes are always open and cautious, alert to any dangers and threats, ever watching.
PAST:February was born outside of the Misfire mob to a subordinate female. Her lack of full attention as a pup could possibly be a reason that she is as not-outspoken in character, but nothing severely damaging ever happened to the 'kat. Always quiet and reserved, she served as a good sentry for her old mob. However, while babysitting a litter of pups one afternoon, a rival family raided the burrow. February tried her best to defend the pups, but she was beaten and dragged from the dark. In a matter of minutes the pups she had attempted to defend were dead, and she had nothing left. The scared female made a dash for it, not wanting to risk having her life taken. She spent her night in a near by bolt hole, but when she returned the next noon, her mob was not there. Having left to find a new burrow that wasn't trashed by the enemies, her mob had left her alone, probably assuming she was dead. Saddened, February launched into an exploration of the desert, a search for a new home, and instead of finding her birthmob, she found the Misfires. Tired of her search, the meerkat settled into the mob and decided to call it home.
